We’ve always been driven by a mission to build. This passion for building drove the creation of the Covariant Brain—a groundbreaking set of  Robotics Foundation Models—to accelerate the deployment of AI Robotics into real-world production environments at scale.

Since our founding in 2017, Covariant has helped our global customer base set a new standard for what’s achievable in warehouse pick and place automation. Our talented team has collaborated with over 50 customers and partners on projects to deploy hundreds of AI-powered robotic solutions that can successfully handle tens of millions of unique items.

Recognized as a leader in AI Robotics technology, the Covariant Brain has been trained on millions of robotic episodes to operate at human-level autonomy. Throughout this journey, we’ve seen how Robotics Foundations Models can overcome existing limitations and handle a broad range of generalized tasks. And we see a future where these models will power billions of robots across thousands of different tasks.

We are proud to announce that we entered into an agreement with Amazon that will help us optimize our business so that we can continue inventing solutions for our customers’ most persistent and costly warehouse automation challenges. Through this agreement, Amazon will receive a non-exclusive license to Covariant’s Robotic Foundation Models. Peter Chen, Pieter Abbeel, Rocky Duan, and other members of our research and engineering teams will also join Amazon.

Ted Stinson and Tianhao Zhang will assume leadership of Covariant. Ted, currently serving as COO, will step into the CEO role. Over the past seven years, Ted and Tianhao have been instrumental in driving Covariant’s commercial and technical strategies—creating a strong foundation for continued success as they lead Covariant into an exciting new phase of growth.

Looking forward, we're incredibly excited about what's ahead for Covariant and truly believe in the transformative power of AI Robotics. We remain dedicated to delivering the Covariant Brain into production environments across a broad set of global industries, including apparel, health and beauty, grocery, and pharmaceuticals.
